Standard worktops are 3000mm x 650mm wide x 40mm thick unless otherwise specified and are supplied to be sanded and finished in situ.
Oak - the honeyed tones of oak are a perennial favourite, classically elegant and complementing the widest range of styles.. Oak worktops are available in a choice of 2 / 3 or 4 metre lengths
Cherry - this pretty timber is most often combined with painted kitchens following Shaker inspiration, which are shown off beautifully by its pinkish tones that deepen over time.
Merbau - the rich reddish brown of Merbau brings a colonial touch and its intrinsic oils also offer natural resistance to moisture. Merbau worktops are 30mm thick.
Panga Panga - a truly luxurious timber, the colour of an espresso with a delicate fleck in the grain. A fabulous contrast to contemporary lines and materials. Panga Panga worktops are 25mm thick.
Walnut - velvety to the touch and milk chocolate in colour, Walnut is a soft, delicately toned timber that is inherently sophisticated and classic.
Fitting Tips
Broadleaf recommend that solid wood worktops are undercoated with Osmo Wood Protecter and then sealed with 2 coats of Broadleaf Hardwax Oil to create a hardwearing heat resistant, water repellent finish. A balance coat of Hardwax Oil should be applied to the underside of the worktop to prevent inequal absorption of humidity and consequent cupping.
