Parquet floors are created by laying small pieces of timber in a geometric pattern. Although they have never really been out of fashion, they are now experiencing a popularity unseen since the 1930’s.

Herringbone is the classic design and arguably the most elegant - especially when laid with a contrasting border or tramline. Other well known patterns popular in domestic properties are Brickwork and Basket weave, both of which work well with a modern interior.

Our beautiful parquet blocks are available in a choice of timbers:

Gallery Oak -
practically knot free and highly colour consistent, this is the classic European Oak parquet floor.

Elegance Oak -
European Oak blocks featuring warm colour variation and some small knots.

Tumbled Oak -
a slightly aged block with worn edges, and a patina on the top surface reminiscent of glorious old parquet floors and designed to create the old schoolhouse feel. As featured in Good Housekeeping Sept 08

Rustic Beech - a dense grained timber varying in colour from pale cream to golden honey with some grey and brown streaks and occasional small knots.

Panga Panga -
a show stopping exotic timber varying initially in colour from pale brown to almost black, but oxidising after sanding to give a fairly consistent black brown floor.

Rhodesian Teak -
a rich red timber with a chestnut brown ripple in the grain whose colour deepens in the weeks after finishing - a close modern alternative to mahogony.

The above are all classically proportioned and perfect for all traditional designs. With the exception of Tumbled Oak blocks they will require filling and sanding before sealing.

To complement these blocks, and create a truly individual design we can offer a selection of borders and tramlines in dark, red and light timbers. Please ask for details.
